The Methana peninsula consists of hills, mountains, valleys and plateaus, where olive groves, large fields of lemon, orange and mandarin, figs, almonds, pines and pine trees are located.

In the area there are rare wildflowers, rare orchids and also thrive, thyme, oregano, sage and other aromatic and medicinal herbs in considerable quantities.

The wildlife of the island consists mostly of raccoons, wild boar, foxes, mice, hedgehogs, ferrets, turtles, snakes and lizards. From birds there are different kinds of crows, swallows, martins, sparrows, owls, seabirds, hawks and others.

The marine ecosystem around the Methana Peninsula presents a wide variety of species, such as: marl, sardine, aetherina, anchovies, squid, mackerel, gallop, cod, mackerel, horse mackerel, Bass, seabream, octopus, cuttlefish and many other kinds of seafood.
